Mace and Sense move Siemens

27/05/2009

Mace has been appointed by Siemens Real Estate to provide project management and cost consultancy services on the development of new production and servicing facilities for its industrial turbo-machinery business in Lincoln. The project involves the consolidation of Siemens' existing Lincoln based businesses onto the new 30 acre Teal Park site on the outskirts of Lincoln. The industrial gas turbine production facilities, service support and offices will be relocated from the city centre where they have been situated since 1867.

A combined Mace/Sense team started work on the project in September 2009 and is initially creating clear project parameters for the development before managing project delivery for scheduled completion in late 2011. Mace has previously worked for Siemens Real Estate in Spain on a number of projects and the good relationship established there has helped the team to secure this work in the UK.

The move to Teal Park will generate £40m of investment in the local area over the next three years. Plans include a new state-of-the-art factory and offices which will be built over the 27 acre site, including a new access road, parking and facilities. The new factory and offices will be built using environmentally-friendly lighting and sustainable building technologies to reduce emissions and save energy.
