Workplace, one of Macro's services, has been working in consultation with the client Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) to develop a new generic accommodation model that can be applied to any of the council’s offices.
As part of the office rationalisation programme, the HCC office Apsley 1 is the first building to be completed to this design specification, and the flexible environment is now occupied by HCC employees.
Workplace has developed a model that facilitates new ways of working by improving efficiency, increasing flexibility and improving communications. Facilities have been standardized and all furniture gives a guaranteed high quality working environment.
Workplace has successfully achieved this model by working with the HCC design team to create a space planning strategy for the building, engaging with user groups through workshops, manager interviews, and presentations to teams, developing floor plans that accommodate the identified needs and identifying appropriate furniture and storage.
