Gez CarrSenior Community Regeneration Manager

Gez joined Mace Sustain in 2007 as a coordinator within the social inclusion team and progressed to his current role as business unit leader and senior community regeneration manager in 2009.

Prior to joining Mace Sustain, Gez worked within the construction industry as a self employed carpenter and joiner from leaving school in 1981, completing an apprenticeship and working across most trades until a career change into the social care sector during 1996. Gez has worked across disciplines including adult psychiatry, disability and community mental health, before moving into social care work with young people.

With over 15 years working in the construction sector and 14 years within the social care sector, Gez has accumulated the necessary skills and experience to drive and lead the community regeneration team through current projects and to direct them towards the supporting ethos behind community regenerations values. Gez believes in developing positive partnerships with agencies such as the homeless charity Centre Point, where he successfully engaged over 50 young homeless men and women, securing training opportunities, work experience and employment opportunities for them.

Gez believes construction projects can deliver a substantial increase in local employment opportunities, which can have the potential to improve low economic activity rates, address high levels of unemployment and low levels of skills and demonstrate the positive impacts construction can bring for local residents.
