Role: Operations Lead - Corporate Team

Neil Scott is operations lead for Mace Plus' corporate team.

Neil joined the construction industry after university and over 30 years has developed a thorough understanding of the construction industry through career experience ranging from project manager on major projects to Construction Director running construction operations within a construction business. Recently Neil has been responsible for an annual turnover of £110m, within the sectors of office buildings, defence, education, hotels & leisure and residential developments and his experience includes refurbishment and new build. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and has successfully overseen a broad range and size of projects across all markets and most procurement routes.

Neil passionately believes that teamwork is the key to successful construction projects and creating a "project team" across all stake holders is his number one priority. Neil concentrates on understanding the clients' needs and delivering on their expectations. However progress is only made through new ideas and Neil is also an advocate of innovation and is keen to embrace new techniques and believes this can be greatly enhanced by a motivated supply chain. He has a considerable ability to identify trends within the construction process and therefore develops solutions to challenges at an early stage within the life of a project.

Neil understands that delivery of the product for the client is our primary aim. Delivering a construction project can only be achieved with teamwork and therefore the creation of a strong team is fundamental to its success. Neil considers his primary role is to help build a team that serves the project. The team must be formed across all disciplines and includes the client, the professionals, the main contractor, suppliers and sub contractors.
