Como has been awarded the £18 million fit out project by shopping channel QVC UK, the UK’s leading television shopping channel.
QVC UK, is looking to upgrade its facilities to enable filming in HD and to accommodate a workforce of around 600. Procured under a fixed price contract, the Como team undertook an extensive value engineering exercise to meet the client’s budget.

The Como team is adding further value on this project by helping QVC UK to achieve its BREEAM ambitions. With the client aiming for an excellent rating, Como is implementing a waste segregation strategy that will result in six separate waste streams being disposed of in line with the company’s environmental policy.

Como project manager, Bob Cooper said: “We are delighted to be building on our broadcasting fit out experience and our relationships with the professional team on this fantastic project for QVC.”
The team is currently on site and the project is scheduled for completion in December 2011.
