Robin Harris, Como director and president of property body CoreNet Global UK was recently involved in the launch of a new networking event for the property industry called Offices 08. Together with Property Week and Office Agents Society, CoreNet Global UK organised the conference for over 650 delegates at the Celtic Manor Resort.

The aim of the event was to bring developers, investors, occupiers and agents together to discuss hot topics in the current property market and to get a view on the future. Keynote speakers included the chief executive of British Land, Stephen Hester, principal economic commentator for ‘The Independent', Hamish McRae, director of corporate services international EMEA for Microsoft, Nigel Baker and deputy chairman of Chelsfield Partners, Sir Stuart Lipton.

Several panel discussions were held during the conference debating topics ranging from sustainability, planning, occupiers requirements, mixed use offices with the final debate focusing on ‘this house believes that occupiers get a raw deal.'

Robin Harris commented, "It's great to get everyone together, to get the occupiers along with the developers, investors and agents, and to get a view of the market and where it's going. I was very interested to hear the views of the keynote speakers, and the other speakers over the two days and I think that it's fantastic they are all under the same roof."
