West data
Sense provided strategic cost advice and detailed cost models to client Merrill Lynch for an off-site data centre in West London, the first Tier 4 facility built in the UK.
The project comprised the delivery of 22,000ft2 data hall including all associated infrastructure and an 87,000ft2 disaster recovery facility. Project complexities included the construction of new three level electrical plantrooms and the installation of a new mezzanine deck above the data halls. All works were carried out around an existing data hall facility occupied by another bank.
During the design process Mace Technology were appointed construction manager. The project involved the construction of a Tier 4 resilient data centre within a large warehouse previously used for telecoms equipment manufacturing part of which was occupied by an existing major banks data centre. Additionally the project undertook the strip out and high class fit out of the adjacent three storey office accommodation to be used for both DR and BAO bank activities.
