Mace has been appointed as Project and Construction Managers on the refurbishment of the Royal Bank of Scotland's city centre production and test facility.
This 6,000m2 facility is critical to the banks operations, supports their entire network throughout the UK and must remain live during the infrastructure upgrade.
The upgrade included a new 4MW incoming supply, over 4MW of back up from a mixture of rotary and static uninterruptible power supplies, removal and replacement of all air conditioning plant both external and within the data halls as well as all necessary detection systems.
The challenges presented required that resilient supplies are maintained at all times during the change over.
The client has chosen Mace for the construction delivery of all their data centre strategy development projects throughout the UK.
