Information

Mace is delivering a full project and construction management service on this large mixed use project, a major new development in New Belgrade, Serbia. The “village” will be completed in time for 2009's World Student Games. After the games are over the flats will be sold as residential flats, a development known as "Belville".

The project comprises six plots with 14 residential and 2 commercial buildings spread over 14 hectares in the fast growing part of Belgrade - New Belgrade, and lies next to another recent Mace project, the Delta City Mall. The residential component consists of 1788 apartments (from studios to four-room apartments). In each building the ground floor will be a commercial area, comprising small shops units from 14.4 to 51 square metres in size. There are underground garages (under all plots) to accommodate up to 1325 cars, and there will be 615 open parking places at the level of ground floor. The complex will also include 38,000 square meters of commercial and retail space. It is anticipated that during the Universiade 2009 Games the complex will host over 10,000 athletes.Mace has been a key part of the project from the outset, starting as design managers and moving into a more fully fledged project management role, including planning, cost management, document control, health and safety and technical supervision. As a result of intelligent planning the Mace construction and project management team is well ahead of its planned schedule whilst maintaining and extending quality and health and safety standards on the project. By the beginning of December 2007, at the second inspection, the Mace team was comfortably ahead of schedule.
