David Vaughan

Role: Group Finance Director

David is the Mace Group Finance Director and has held this role since 1997. David qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982 and then as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1985.

Once qualified he joined Longcrofts and progressed to become a partner in 1990. In 1993 David joined Chantrey Vellacott, a 55 partner national practice, and was appointed head of audit and accounting in 1997.

He specialised in advising a fast growing entrepreneurial client base, dealing with a broad range of issues including fund raising, business planning, capital structures and performance improvement. He advised the Mace Group on these and other issues since the beginning of 1995 before joining the company in 1997.

Appointed as finance director, David is responsible for the finance, IT and facilities functions of the business. His priorities are to manage the growth of the business and to ensure increased shareholder value through both cash and profit maximisation. He provides the financial input into strategic corporate decisions and assists the business units in resolving day to day financial issues as they arise. This includes project financing including bonds and PCGs, risk sharing frameworks and joint ventures, and new areas of business activity.

One of his current priorities is to improve the information and systems platforms of the business through implementation of new finance systems and methodologies, thus improving project performance.
