Giving back
Our approach to charitable support is outlined in our charity policy. Voted for by our staff we have an annual charity of the year which is the focus for many of Mace's fundraising efforts. Many of our staff also take part in the Give As You Earn scheme which is currently raising over £25,000 a year.

Mace has an enviable track record of managing and delivering projects in a way which maximises the benefit to local communities.

Our highly experienced project teams continue to find more effective and sustainable solutions for clients through focusing on every single impact of our projects, and how we can improve the quality of life for all stakeholders through carefully planned and coordinated regeneration schemes.

Community impact
We are also leading the way in developing construction solutions which fully consider the long-term impact on the communities in which we work. As the wider public become more interested in the built environment and their position within it, we are striving to consult with and understand the needs of all elements of society at the earliest stage, to ensure that our projects provide lasting value and create meaningful and usable spaces for people to enjoy.

The Mace Social Inclusion Programme
Mace's Social Inclusion Programme (SIP), established in 2002, is designed to provide greater opportunities for local people to become involved in some of the construction projects we deliver. The first SIP was set up at More London, and has informed the industry's approach to social inclusion, and working closely with local communities to provide real benefits to residents, particularly those with traditional barriers to employment. Eve Light, Social Inclusion Manager at Mace, explains:

"The programme is significant in two respects - firstly, we are creating environments in which people who would otherwise struggle to find work can get a foot on the employment ladder, which in turn makes a huge difference to the individual and their family. And secondly, we are challenging traditional stereotypes about construction and related industries, by paving the way for more women, people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups, the long-term unemployed and ex-offenders to gain meaningful employment."
